At the Governor’s request, the SBA granted a disaster declaration to small businesses across the state, allowing affected businesses to apply for low interest SBA disaster loans. Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website at DisasterLoan.sba.gov.
Businesses and individuals may also obtain information and loan applications by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 or 1-800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing, or by emailing disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Preparing for Severe Weather:

Make an evacuation plan: Make plans now as to how and where you and your family will evacuate should it become necessary this hurricane season. Make arrangements now with inland friends or family to shelter you and your family should evacuation become necessary.

Add the North Carolina evacuation routes map internet site to the home screen of your smart phone, tablet, and home computer. http://www.pendercountync.gov/pcd/wp-content/uploads/sites/15/2017/10/NC_Evacuation_Routes.pdf

Hurricane Preparedness for Persons with Special Needs:   Residents  of Pender County who have special medical needs and may need assistance in finding shelter or transportation during a disaster such as a hurricane, can apply to be placed on a Pender County registry.
The registry provides county staff with contact information for special needs individuals before an emergency to ensure they have a safe place to go and a way to get there. The information on the registry will not be released or used for any other purpose. Being listed in the registry does not mean that a person must go to a shelter; in fact going to the homes of families or friends is encouraged. For more important information and to make application to the registry, please visit penderem.com  and click on the Special Needs Registry Form towards the bottom of the page.

A Prayer of Relief

Loving and gracious God,

All love and mercy compels us to the side of our brothers and sisters. In our charity, and in our compassion, help us stand with them. In our solidarity and in our sharing, help us stand with them. In our advocacy, and in our prayer, help us stand with them. And as we turn to them in their peril, we ask your grace go with us: To feed the hungry, give us your grace. To give drink to the thirsty, give us your grace. To clothe the naked, give us your grace. To shelter the homeless, give us your grace. To care for the sick, give us your grace. To reach the trapped and the stranded, give us your grace. To mourn the dead, give us your grace. And in reaching out, may we find you in them. And may they find you in us.

- adapted from a prayer of Catholic Relief Services

Saint Medard, patron saint for protection against bad storms, we ask you to intercede for us during the storms of our lives as well as the storms in nature.

Protect our families and our homes.

We pray for assistance for the victims of hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters.

Loving God, send in more helpers, and multiply resources and supplies for the aid of those in need.

You calmed the storm on the Sea of Galilee; deliver us from the storms that are raging around us now.

 Saint Medard, pray for us!
